Midland, Texas, United States
My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

This Week’s Give-Away

And, oh, by the way:  Hi, again!
We’re finally back from the Second Road Trip Weekend in a Row, wherein we went to Austin and met Aimee from Artsyville and hung out with friends and had a great time, but more about that later.
For now, here:
1
This is one of the books I made. Soft leather cover, long wrap tie, heavy cardstock pages. Moe approves:
2
There may be a bit of dried cat spit on the long leather tie—he thought it was for him:  soft, twitchy, so like the tail of a mouse. Like he’s ever SEEN the tail of a mouse.
3
Post a note and tell me something. I’ll pick Friday. You’ll be sure to check back then, right?

Oh I LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!! cat spit and all! so hmmm....tell you something....at the moment my mind is pretty blank, I just got home from work and I'm getting ready to do the dishes and pick up the apt., that's my little routine and when I'm all done with that I sit down to work on something (lately it's been collage on canvas, but tonight I think I'm going to try something new-don't know what yet)
take care and have a great evening!

Remember that Racquel Welsh movie... 20000000000 BC or something like that? Anyway this journal should go with her... it's pretty cool. "INSTRUCTIONS: Use only charcoal or ochre" should be stamped inside. I hope however that you weren't carrying this when the porto potty man tried to pick you up, otherwise it'll have weird vibes forever or the next 20000000 years.

Good to have you back at the Cafe!

Hi Rice,

It's nice to see you again - I'm not sure if you've been gone or I've been gone, but I've missed you. Love the truck with the portapotty story.

I would sure like to win a soft leather bound handmade book. Even if it does have cat spit on it.

xoxo

Moe has never seen the tail of a mouse? Are you sure? I live with a cat named Moe, short for Minemoto, or I used to. She decided the chow was better next door at my moms, so she moved over there. Can't say I blame her. Over there she gets canned food, not just the dried crunchies, real tuna on Fridays and treats of whatever my mom happens to be cooking....think I'll move over there too! lol!!

What a great book. I really enjoy reading your stories. I just stumbled onto your blog from somewhere else. I do not like linen, I just look at it and it wrinkles. My way of ironing is with a spray bottle and water.

Gorgeous journal - I bet it smells good, too (ummmm, leather)! And cat spittle just adds to the charm!

It would make a lovely (and well loved) addition to my journal collection.

Oh, and I'm still laughing from the "ancient crack ho" story above!

Is your cat blue??

Just kidding. That book is a real beauty, but not quite so fancy that I'd be too intimidated to use it. The perfect balance!

Hey, maybe the Porta-Potty guy was after your BOOK!
