Aieeeee! I Hate This!

As you know, The Fabulous Canadians got me hooked on DaVinci’s Inquest, a terrific crime series. I got all the episodes available from Netflix, and tonight we watched the last one in season 3. And that’s all they have.
So I thought, well, maybe three seasons was it, for some unfathomable reason. I checked the website, and it turns out there are SEVEN seasons, but only the first three are available on DVD. I checked amazon.com, too.
I cannot STAND this. We love this show. We are so hooked. We are like junkies. We’re jonesin’ here. We know it’s out there, but we can’t get it.
There’s no telling how long it will be before the rest of the seasons are out on DVD. I’ve bought the first two entire seasons, just so we won’t go into major withdrawal.
It’s pathetic. Really. If any of y’all hear about new releases, please let me know. I’ll be over in the corner, crying and chewing on my foot.

they're in my queue on BLockbuster, too. I didn't realize we weren't going to get up-to-this-season episodes.

shoot.

but I'm glad you were hooked. We haven't been hooked on a tv-to-dvd program since the weekend we lived through the entirety of "Oz" and the two weekends we sat through all 546 sesaons of "Homicide:Life on the Streets."

I'm ready for DaVinci!

rice, i'm so glad i clued you in about daVinci way back when, after a posting you did about the lack of worthy television shows ;)

i felt the same way as you do now when i finished watching the last episode on my netflix dvd's. the only thing getting me through my addiction is that one of our local stations is showing all the seasons of daVinci on saturday mornings at 3:30 am, and yes, my vcr is set to record it every week, lol. i think right now they're in season 6, about halfway through. so i still have the rest of that season and season 7 to go. but i missed season 4 entirely and half of season 5, because until that point i had no idea it was on, until a friend told me about it. although, same friend mentioned that she gets it on one of the "direct tv" channels called "mystery" (i think). you'd think with all the channels i get on cable, not to mention all the money i spend getting said channels, i could get the mystery channel. but no, i have to be satisfied with one episode per week at 3:30 in the morning. sigh. and i don't even want to think about withdrawal symptoms when season 7 finishes airing. wa-a-a-a-ah! :(

so is "Homicide" good, tristan? we like police procedural stuff. gritty is OK. i prefer all my viewing to be puke-free, but one week we say 4 movies in a row with puke scenes. yes, i ranted a lot.

mo, you are my hero--we love this series more than dirt! we watch an episode and go, "ah, those Fabulous Canadians!" aren't you glad the election here went the way it did so hundreds of thousands of us didn't flock into your country for asylum?

tristan, i can't believe you sat thru 546 episodes of "homicide" over 2 weekends! that's awesome, lol ;)

but wasn't "homicide" the greatest? i was sorry to see it end. have you seen "wire" on HBO? it's another nitty gritty police drama and i was hooked right off the bat. unfortunately it too finally ended.

although i do have some favorites that are currently airing, i have the sense to recognize that they're fluff. i get it. but i'm always on the lookout for the next gritty drama. if you guys find anything, please share ;)

never watched "oz", although i've heard it's quite good. what are your thoughts? or should watching it in its entirety over one weekend be sufficient testimony, lol

speaking of canada, my brother in ireland has been trying to convince me to move from new mexico to canada, not just so he can come live with me (new mexico is too expensive for him and too hot for his irish setters, lol), but because he's convinced it will be beneficial to my mental well-being, hee

Davinci's was very good, especially the early years. But I found the political focus of the final episodes of the sequel disappointing.

I'm not sure if they would be to your taste, but "The Closer" and "Saving Grace" are both very good. They are on TNT.

ok, so i went over and added all 6 seasons of Homicide to the queue--i suspect my husband has already seen them, but i don't think i have. and it's been a while, anyway. and will be a while longer, since they're in, like, 360th place or something. thanks!
