Midland, Texas, United States
My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

Bodhisattva in Metro

Susan in Seattle sent me this video, which I adore. And not just because it made me laugh out loud.
A “bodhisattva” is an enlightened being (bodhi = enlightened,” “sattva” = being) who acts out of compassion for others. Rather than doing good deeds to gain admiration or respect, the bodhisattva acts only out of “pure love and compassion.”
I think this would be most excellent fun, as well.
Thanks, Susan! You made my day~~

That had me in stitches. Laughing is indeed contagious. I so have to put this on my own blog. And Ricë you're right, this would be so fun to try on the Montreal metro. Oh yeah

Oh that is so funny. It reminded me of my childhood, and going to visit relations. My cousin and I would always get the giggles at the dinner table. The harder you tried to stop the worse it would get. My sons were nearly late for school watching this. They thought it would be a great thing to try in class today...

Only 24 hours ago, I forwarded this link to my mother, Susan in Seattle, who then forwarded it to you, and now it's on your blog... now more and more people are seeing it... and we're all laughing! How fabulous. Keep the giggle alive!

Thank you so much! It's hard to put
the Bodhisattva ideal in such a clear
perspective. The artist who made this film certainly was spot on!

I'll share this again and again.
Wonderful!

I admit, I loved it so much I too
had to post it on my blog.

Yep...Rice...I even quoted you, hope you dont mind, just sharing the joy and laughter!

It is amazing how one person can change an atmosphere! To bring joy, just because it needs to be there, is just awesome!

We are, indeed, all beings just waiting to laugh for the joy of being alive. How wonderful that this bodhisatva gave that trainload of people permission. Now to figure out how to give ourselves this extraordinary permission on our own.

How perfectly lovely. The unbelievable look of serene bliss on that man's face as he looked around him at that unbridled laughter was so moving that it brought me to tears as well. Thanks, Rice.

Thanks Ricë & Susan & Lauren!
I've posted the video on my blog but encouraged readers/viewers to come to the Voodoo Cafe to read what you wrote first.
Happy happy days,
