So Jody Nix. His sister has this fabulous hand-tooled leather bag, and when I asked where she got it, she told me her husband made it. He does custom saddles, along with other wonderful stuff, most of which I don’t need and couldn’t afford to have him make, anyway.
So I had him make me a cell phone case.
Isn’t it fabulous? I wanted the Texas star on the closure, and I wanted tooling. It’s lined with fleece.
This was several years—and several cell phones—ago. It was a terrific idea, but it never really worked for me: it’s too bulky for the clothes I wear, and I kept hitting it with my arm.
It has a magnetic closure. And the metal thing on the back is really sturdy—hangs tightly on your belt.
Anyway—if you could use something like this and are a fan of the Voodoo Cafe, let me know. I’d like to find it a home where it will get a lot of use. You know.

Oh Cool!!! I'd love it if Earl draws
my name...What a wonderful piece of
leather work!
BTW, thanks for the Metro Bodhisattva link. It's now making the rounds of all my friends.
Take care!
What beautiful workmanship! I just want to hold it and feel the texture of the tooling and inhale that wonderful leather aroma...
My cell phone usually lives in my truck (so I tend to miss a lot of calls). It doesn't fit in my purse, and it tends to fall off when I clip it to anything.
I would actually carry my cell phone with me and use it if I had such a cool case...and I love that it says Voodoo Cafe too.
What a wonderful piece of work! I stopped by way of Tristan at Enchanted Revelry. Very generous give away. I was reading through some posts and laughed out loud at your story of your (dare I say) chubby cat and his perch.I will have my daughter check your blog out as well, you have her dream job!
Oh my goodness! Oh...please, please...I would just love wearing that on my hip...please....Texas Star...I'm a big fan of VooDoo Cafe stuff...oh, remember the bay with EGR on it? It would soooo match!
Mush love,
Miss Julia @ Local 106
(I know I typed mush love instead of much love... thought about changing it but didn't)

Miss Julia

miss julia
That is cool. Don't put me in the drawing though, I don't even have a cell phone...
Oooooooh!! I like it! I would definitely wear it, just to talk with people brave enough to comment about it.
The cell phone case is too cool. I lived in TX for several years and would love to get back. Currently back in the midwest to take care of my mother. But have been a western fan my whole life. Loved Roy Rogers and the Lone Ranger. Was lucky enough to live on a farm and got my first horse when I was 12. Love your blog..the thoughtful, the quirky, the just plain interesting..whatever it might be on any given day.
