My Photo
Midland, Texas, United States
My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

Longfellow Elementary in Boise, Idaho

Now that I have a few hours to breathe (this week’s article almost done, roofers finished, washer and dryer not due until Saturday), I’ll try to give y’all something to look at. Sorry I don’t post more photos. I’m a word woman, not a photo woman. I like words better than pictures. But even I think I need more photos here.

This was a school we walked by in Boise, as we cruised around the cool old section of town, heading down to the cafe where we had a glass of wine and then walked to the organic market and bought dinner. I loved this idea so much:

Wouldn’t it be cool to walk over these on your way into class every day?

And then, a little farther on, their community garden:

I can't help but wonder, would you even notice it if you passed by it every day?

I love the idea of keeping poems underfoot.
