My name rhymes with "Lisa,"
I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm
and the mortgage is cheap,
and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course!
The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years.
I have the best job in the world
because I get to call up artists
and ask them nosy questions
and then write about them.
I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.
Oh yes! The hydrangeas are wonderful. In another lifetime, I organized watercolor workshops at Cannon Beach, OR. An easy drive from Portland, Cannon Beach seemed to be the home of the most breathtaking hydrangeas I have ever seen. The colors were rich and deep from burgundy to cobalt blue. Those bushes were often more than head high and loaded with huge blossoms. Worth the trip west!
Come to think of it, the hydrangeas at my workplace remind me of the EGE's sweatshirts/hoodies. Especially the biggest, most purple ones. Maybe it's the contrast between the purples and oranges in his clothes?
Funny, we have over 200 antique roses in our garden and some truly gorgeous hydrangeas, but nowhere near 200. Yet our friends call it Hydrangea Hill. Go figure! I love them tho, and I will send you a shot of one that has lemon color leaves. I swear it glows in the dark ;-)
The rhododendron garden at Crystal Springs can be pretty spectacular too. We do have some gorgeous flowers here. Visit McMenamins Edgefield next time you are here. I love their gardens. the beer is just Ok- but the food is pretty good.
