My Photo
Midland, Texas, United States
My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

This One Will Make You Grin

I’m not a fan of weddings, and our own certainly wasn’t a big ol’ ball of laughs. Not in 107 degrees of non-air-conditioned heat.

But even I, the Wedding Hater, love this video, sent to me by Chris:

Thanks, Chris! Made my day--

I still cried - sniff - I am a total weeper during any wedding "entrance" (except when our neice got married and sobbed throughout the entire event)
I bet this wedding had a great party afterwards!

laura, you made us laugh out loud, and then my husband said, "not." we were thinking UU church, but there is that cross up there, so i'm thinking probably not. but there is a female minister--another UU sign. who knows?

don't tell anyone, alison, but it made me cry, too--totally selfish crying: i wish so much that i'd had a clue that weddings could be this fun. then maybe i wouldn't have been so miserable, melting away in that dress. oh! wouldn't it be fun to go back and design a ceremony like this?! yowza!

I sent this to my only unmarried child. One can only hope! I laughed, I got teary... Of course, she has me as an example - Oldtimer and I were married in a bakery by a woman UU minister.
It could be Episcopalian, though, couldn't it? The have women priests.

We had a tiny wedding but if I were going to have a big wedding, I would want it to start like this one.

Yeah, I was thinking maybe Episcopalian, although it looks kind of stark for an Episcopalian church.

Just found out, it's a Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN. Here's an article:

Why not celebrate a significant, or maybe any anniversary getting "remarried" and do something inspired by this great wedding?

I ceretainly enjoyed the video and appreciated the wonderful feel-good factor it has.

I think the fun thing about this is it "featured" several family and friends as well as the bride and groom. A good time was had by all.

Oh shoot - I wish there was an "edit" in this - sorry about my spelling - sheesh - neice ??? what was I thinking?

We had a very fun wedding, but dancing in the aisles would have been a great idea.
