My Photo
Midland, Texas, United States
My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

And Here’s Why I’ll Be Gone for a While

Oh, I may post from Skippy, if I survive. But I’m going to shut this baby down for a couple days.
Remember I told you we were going to paint the studio this summer? As in:  take everything out of it, pull up the carpet, scrape the ceiling, paint everything, put some of the stuff back and get rid of the rest? This is what I want for my birthday, and The EGE is obliging me.
Here’s what my studio—my beloved studio, where I’ve been for 20 years this month, looked like on Sunday:

And here’s what it looks like this morning, minus the bulletin board, which came down after he took these:

Wish us luck, please. I’m tired already.

I'm totally envious of your studio space... I hope to have one of my own someday. :)

What a great project! Are the orange and green paint chips your color choices? Love them both so fun and happy!

You're in my thoughts cause I know how tiring painting/redecorating can be. Good luck and I look forward to seeing the beauty when you're done.
Peace & Love,

Oh Lordy, that's a lot to haul in and out. But there is hope! Nothing like a new studio, just the way you want it! Do you get the Robert Genn newsletter? Last one was all about studio space and tweeking it to be just right.http://clicks.robertgenn.com/new-studio-blues.php
not the typical comments, very insightful.
Good luck!

Wow. Well, at least you won't need any exercise for a while, after you've done all that. There's your silver lining!
