My Photo
Midland, Texas, United States
My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

Hooray! I Have A Computer!

Oh, sure:  I’m sitting on the bare  (albeit Really Fabulous!) cement floor, sans Office Chair (we bought one, but it’s still in the truck, unassembled), with no cushion for my butt, craning my poor neck to try to see the monitor, way, WAY above me, but, hey!  I actually got far enough today that I got all the various Computer Accoutrements assembled and plugged in and—Big Deal!—WORKING—and so that’s a major step in the whole Studio ReDo Thang, which we were beginning to believe, really and truly, would take us until Hell Hath Frozen Over, or something. Omigod:  it’s been hellacious, for sure. Be glad you have not been here. I have been even more a Colossal Bitch than usual. It’s been frightening. Ask my husband. AKA The Saint.

It turns out (duh) that I don’t do well when I 1) can’t work and 2) can’t do laundry and 3) am surrounded by Fucking Clutter, which has become, let me tell you, an Abomination Unto the Lord, in every way. More about that later.

Right now I’ve got to go find a more comfortable way to sit. I’m way, way too fucking old to sit cross-legged on a cement floor in the dark. Trust me. I may have to resort to chocolate.

I’ve already had enough wine—plus blues, live, at the museum, thank you, jesus—to sink a battleship. There are Times when nothing else will suffice.

You know?

All is good. Albeit not very comfortable. Aieeeeee. Anybody got a cushion?

Hooray! Good to see you back. Sitting on the floor is not something I can do anymore either... my padding's all in the wrong places these days!

Reading you is such a great way to start my day, and I do so identify with you. Maybe you are a long lost sister....

Can't wait to see a pic of your space when you can post one - actually pix of the space as it evolves would be great!

Ricë, Yay! computers that work! Yay painted studio.

The shelves in my studio fell on my head last night. (OK, so they missed... I dodged) I think it's trying to tell me it's time to get off my tuckus and actually get it reorganized and fixed up!

I have a nice crazy-quilted cushion I made recently, but I suspect that if I sent it you'd have your chair put back together before it arrived!

Cocolate will always do it if the wine won't.
