Midland, Texas, United States
My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

Queen Butterflies in the Blue Mist

[Sounds almost like a James Lee Burke novel, huh?]

So here’s a little of The Good Stuff for you this morning, just in case you’re feeling a lack of it:

(I do misspeak here, in the best Self-Important Asshole from Texas fashion:  it’s blue mist, not purple. But you knew that already.)

That is amazing! I love James Lee Burke, and it DOES sound like one of his titles. What a beautiful place you live in!

That is so awesome! I don't have any of that. I wonder if it's drought tolerant? I am adding it to my list for next year. Despite planting several things for butterflies this year, I've seen very few. A lot of dragonflies, probably because of the pond.

i think it must be drought-tolerant, as i think their yard is xeriscaped with native plants--it has very, very little grass, lots of cacti and what seem to be wild/native plants.
