My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

A Fabulous Way to Carry Embroidery Floss

Target had some more of those $1 cheaters I love so much, so of course I had to stock up.

I was taking them out of the packages and putting them in the drawer where I keep them (until I take them out and put them on the top of my head for a while and then take them off and lay them down somewhere and lose them. Of course. Isn’t that the whole purpose of buying them: store them, wear them on your head, lose them, buy more?), and I noticed that the size of the little plastic pouch (with a little zipper-ish thing, even!) was familiar. What was it about that size?

And then I realized:  they’re exactly the size of embroidery floss.

No wonder it seemed familiar—I use floss every single day. How completely perfect!

So if you’re in need of some cheapo glasses, head out to Target and stock up and then make sure you save the little cases--

Don’t you just love it when that happens?

Clear pencil cases with a zip are also good as small project sewing kits. I bought several last year on sale for about 20 cents. Alas, this year they now cost about 80 cents and I can't find any on sale. Rats!

My dentist gives out similar cases with the toothbrush and other goodies. I found out they're perfect for carrying paint brushes.

I have to kinda side with Tristan on this one... :)

My mom who is a for real hoarder has a fascination for plastic container things just like this. I recently found a box outside the carport at her house and it contained about 300+ tic tac containers. Also peanut butter jars, I'll bet hundreds, Wisk bottles, dozens . She keeps the plastic sleeves that just about anything comes in. And she flips out for the zippered containers that a blanket comes in. If she could, she would go out and buy up all the eye glasses you are talking about to get those zipper bags you like.

Please... back away from the plastic baggies! ;)
