Midland, Texas, United States
My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

The First Copy on the Loose!

Although the Official Release date isn’t supposed to be for another month, there’s at least one copy of my book, Creative Time and Space, that’s been sold and is in someone’s hands. Look!

pamela with book!

This is artist Pamela Hastings, who sent me a note last night telling me she’d bought my new book in Port Townsend, Washington, on Sunday. I was all like, “?” and “!”

A Mystery, indeed.

I checked, and the owner of the shop tells me she got a copy in the mail, read it, loved it, ordered some, and put the sample on the shelf for sale. Pamela came in, saw it, and bought it. The owner told me another customer had said they’d bought another copy somewhere else. So there are mysterious random copies out there for sale in secret locations, apparently. If you come across one, let me know!

Thanks, Pamela! A little mystery to liven up my week~~

I pre-ordered mine a few weeks ago. I love that about Amazon. Now I don't have to remember. They send it and its like a little present. And having UPS come to our door is also a special gift for my yappy dogs. LOL

I've pre-ordered my copy also and now I feel ripped off. The whole point of pre-ordering is so that you receive your copy as soon as it rolls off the printer and now I've been scooped and scammed by someone who has obtained access before the release date. How does this happen and why can't I be the one? I know that I'm whining and it isn't attractive but I WANT to read this book yesterday.

Rice,
I'm glad that you have a sense of humor because certain things don't come off well in email and my last comment was one of them. Thanks for the calming of the ruffled fur (I know that feathers would be the better saying but there is something kind of icky about that).
Now, I'll shut up and wait for the surprise because at my age and with my memory lapses, it will be a surprise when the book arrives on my doorstep. How pleasant that will be!
