My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

Free, Fast & Easy Music Ringtones = What Could Be Better Than That?

I spent way, way too much time yesterday dicking around with iTunes, trying to turn CD tracks into ringtones. I tried it on the PC, and I tried it on the Mac. I could get to a certain point on each of them—a completely different point, mind you—and then it wouldn’t let me go any further.

Finally, I realized I was going to have to give up. I have Other Things to Do, you know? Like this blog—You People are busy, you have lives, you have things to do. When you have a minute to stop by here to visit, you deserve to be either 1) inspired or 2) entertained or 3) both. If I’m spending, like, three hours trying to figure out the Mystery That is iTunes Ringtone-Making (hint:  they do not want you to do this without paying them, so the work-around is very, very tedious), I’m not doing my job.

Ergo:  this. Not only is it not taking up all my time, but it’s also something you can do without having to wade through half-a-dozen manuals or sign up for anything or pay anyone money. What’s better than that, right? So go here and make some ringtones. It works—I made two last night. I want to make a bunch more. Any time now. . . .

OH! talk about aggrevation. yep, me too. itunes has got their stinkin hand out for a 15 second snipet for our phones. I too tried for hours to get it to work and while I could get the tune and the time snipet and the part that I wanted, when it came to actually finalizing the tune, yep they want money. I think another way around the itunes is to not use it ;) I hope your new way works for me!

for a freebie from itunes, sign up to receive their newsletter and every Tuesday they giveaway a free mp3 download (song not phone ring)

I tried purchasing a ring tone once. Then for some reason (I must've been crazy/drunk or something) I set it for when DH calls. It turned out to be not so cool when my belly dance music with the drums and finger cymbals went off during a conversation. I looked like a loon. No more ringtones!

One less thing for me to worry about since I have no cellphone. Yay me!

This post once again clearly reminds me why I am the last person on planet earth that doesn't have, or want a cell phone, i phone or ring tones. I feel so special and fortunate.
