Don't you wish I were giving away Ruth Rae, and that she would come to your house and bring all her stuff and you could spend the next, oh, 20 years making stuff? Cos not only does she stitch, but she also makes jewelry, and she creates journals and books and, and, and.
And I just happen to have an extra copy of her book Layered, Tattered, and Stitched that I'm going to give away on Monday.
How do you enter to win this fabulous book, you ask? Well, you go to CreateMixedMedia.com and search "Ruth Rae" and find all the goodies there (remember: be sure to check for free downloadable projects!) and then come back here and tell us about it. Remember: your job here is to help spread the word--I can't do it all by myself!
You'll tell us something cool, and you'll tell us you want to enter, and then you'll come back Monday to see if you won.
Well, you might want to come back before then, because didn't I saw I had three books to give away? We had Michael's yesterday, and Ruth's today, so that means. . . .
XO

OOoh I love Ruth Rae. Even more? I *love* that she's available to us at Create MixedMedia! Please enter me for the drawing.
I am going to try my hand at the Melange journal. I have a lot of bits of fabric from quilts, and this project has me itching to dive into my stash. Cool idea - using acrylic paint thinned with water as a dye. Squeee!

Okay, jeez. My head is spinning! First, the photo on the cover of the give-away is SO TIMELY, as Valentine's Day is a short two weeks away (ooo, a poem!) and I was having difficulty deciding card, painting, fiber art. I'm definitely leaning toward fiber art.
I would LOVE to win the drawing and I LOVE the new website. I will add the url to my blog and hope Bhu doesn't complain. (As you know, he believes he deserves ALLL the attention!)
xxooo Patty
I love Ruth Rae's book. I've got it on my wish list at Amazon. I've already downloaded her 3 projects. I love them all, but I love her Melange Journal the best. It looks like a lot of fun to make, and I like things that are very tactile. I'm gonna make this one, soon as I finish off a couple of WIPs.
Ruth Rae's book is very inspirational and I was excited to find the heart wall hanging tutorial. It gave me some ideas for next Christmas, although I won't be working on anything until summer since I'm a school teacher.
I would love to win the book (since the library won't let me keep their copy!), so please enter me in the drawing. I'll be bookmarking the site--it's fabulous!

Downloaded Ruth Rae's Brave Heart Project and cannot wait to dive in. I already started spreading the word about Create Mixed Media! Enter me in the drawing please.
Ricë, I just blogged about the heart exchange Ruth initiated. I would love to have a copy of her book to go with the heart I received! Please throw my name in the hat!
Love the Create Mixed Media website and can't wait to make Ruth Rae's Melange Jounal!
The site needs a little polishing yet.
Sat down to listen to the podcast with Jesse Reno. It wasn't clear where the source was or how long it ran. Therefore I could not stop it nor restart it as I often do, so I can listen in bits as I do other tasks.
After listening something like 20 minutes, the source faded in and out, loosing the audio for short intervals.
Don't know what the causes are, but it needs tweaking to be more user friendly.
I looked at both the Melange journal and the cuffs project. I love sewing collages and I actually started doing so after seeing her artwork in magazines. I would LOVE the chance to win this book. Thanks!
Thanks for checking it out.
I'm sorry it was difficult, Carina. You can go to my podcast host and listen to the interview with Jesse--the link is over there on the right.
Oh my! I would love to have Ruth's book! I am particularly interested in making the cuffs. My daughter has a lump on her wrist (brought about by rock climbing, silly girl) that she is self conscious about and I think a cuff would be the answer! (or several even). Additionally I am looking for some cool inspiration to create a piece for the December issue of Art Quilting Studio. I really NEED Rith's inspiration!
Thanks for your generosity Rice!

I totally love Ruth Rae. I use some of her methods with my 6th grade class. The bracelet idea is great. I can see incorporating that into my next Egypt unit!
I want to learn how to make the journal so I can have my students make one at the beginning of the year for their writing.
I would love to win this drawing! Thanks for being so generous!
love her work-might have to try a cuff bracelet after seeing them on the new site (which i posted about on my blog too~)
Ooooh, I think I need this one. You know, for my refashioning and the fabric jewellery that I want to make.
I wasn't familiar with Ruth Rae so thank you for the introduction. I downloaded the cuffs. I don't usually like wearing bracelets but I think I would like these because they are so light and soft. I am not very comfortable in metal.
I know it is kind of expensive to send stuff overseas so I would be happy to pay postage if I win.
CreateMixedMedia is an amazing site and so incredibly generous with all the free downloads. I got the Stitched Up ebook on the front page yesterday and all the downloads under Ruth Rae today. (I'm hoping to get snowed in this week so I can spend it in an orgy of art sewing). I've been coveting Ruth Rae's book for some time now and would love to be the lucky winner in this drawing.

I actually downloaded the melange pdf last night! THat looks so interesting.
I am going through all the posts now and seeing all the goodness!
Looks like a ton of info and wonderful to have it all in one spot.

Have been fossicking on the site for a couple of days and just love it!
And I just adore, adore, adore the melange journal - this combines my sheer love of textiles with my growing love of journaling. So far I've managed to play in my journal every day this year and it's really been keeping me centered. So I've downloaded the pdf and I know what I'm doing tomorrow - yay!!
I also really like the brave heart book - again with the fabric and print and paint - what more could a girl ask for??
Thank you so much for hosting these giveaways and for a totally amazing website that is full of yummy lusciousness!
Thanks. Now I have Journal Junkies on the way to me in the mail,I just got back from Michaels, the proud owner of a trunk load of stuff that cost way more then I intended. Sigh. I'm going to spend the afternoon putting it together a la Ruth Rae.
Ruth Rae Rocks! Her projects:
1. Have clear, simple and easy to follow directions. The Melange Journal is a next up.
2. Are timely - cool and yet practical
3. Inspire you to take her example and run with it.
Keep creatin' Ruth!

I can't wait to see how Create MixedMedia grows and develops. I think it's going to be a great site! Loved Ruth Rae's projects. It's difficult to decide which one I'm most excited about. I've been making cuff bracelets lately, so possibly that project. Or the heart wall hanging. I'm not much of a journaler these days, but the journal is lovely .... Hard to decide!
At first, I was like, okay, I'll go look, why not? But the fact that I can download a PDF? Play on my own with more than just an inspiring post? THAT makes me want to wander the site and see what else is there! I just got into doing more stitching and playing with fabric (quilting and altering bags) and am in that "new" phase where I want to gobble everything up!
Oh! Fabric projects. Yeah, I'm gonna want this book too. I LOVE that I was able to download the art cuff project instructions.
