Midland, Texas, United States
My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

Podcast with the Fabulous Jeanie Thorn

You know me + rocks. I love rocks! So when I saw what Jeanie does with rocks and welded steel, well. I had to find out more. And then it turns out that she's really fun to talk to and is enthusiastic and excited about what she's doing--a bonus!

Go here to see her work--if you go to the available work, you can see the pieces I mention in our conversation.

As always, you can listen through Notes from the Voodoo Lounge in iTunes (there's a link over there on the right) or go to my podcast host blog page at libsyn.com, or you can just click on the cute little player below.

Oh Ricë! What a delight! I love hearing about other artists' journeys and Jeanie is fabulous (and not just because she has a Boston accent like me - G). How ever do you find these amazing people? And her work is wonderfully beautiful too!

Best,

Deb D.

Thank you, Deborah--she is fabulous. I don't know how I found her--following some link, I guess. And then I saw those ROCKS. Swoon~~

she's very talented. i like the mix of rocks and steel. without any reference to size, her designs could work as sculptures or jewelry. i took a welding class in college and i can tell you that it is a difficult skill to do well. hot metal splatters everywhere and it's hard to control the weld. she does a beautiful job. thanks for the interview. cindy
