My Photo
Midland, Texas, United States
My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

The Everyday Studio

Oboy, oboy--I just love how my gig over at CreateMixedMedia.com allows me opportunities to do cool stuff I wouldn't otherwise get to do. And this is one of those: I was thinking about how much I love seeing inside other people's studios and the places where they make stuff (kitchen table, closet, laundry room), and how we all talk about wanting to see actual, messy, well-used everyday places--not some designer-done, custom-built, never-been-used space we can't even dream about.
[This would fall into the, um, former category, I think.]
[As would this.]
Wouldn't it be cool to have a place to show each other photos of where we work? Sure it would--and to cut to the chase and make a long post short, go here to my new blog post at CMM and read about the project, then jump over to our brand-new Flickr group and join us. Upload as many photos of your studio as you want to share--close-ups, details, panoramic views, whatever. You can see a quick couple of my own photos and some from My Lovely Editor, Tonia, just to break the ice. But we don't want to hang out over there all alone (because if we're alone, that drill press you see in her studio is in big trouble; I think I'm bigger than Tonia, and I might be able to overpower her and abscond with that baby when she isn't looking. Unless, of course, it's, like, heavy or something).

What are you waiting for? Get going! I can't wait to see where you are~~
