On the other hand, they are easily the highest heels I've ever owned--I never wore heels when I was in high school because I was already tall, and then I didn't wear heels often after that because I was not a Shoe Person, not until after my mother died and I, apparently, somehow picked up her love of shoes. Yiiiii. "The Highest Heels I've Ever Owned" is *not* A Good Thing, let me tell you. Those are not words of recommendation.
[No, those are not tights; I am not wearing a mini-dress under that coat. Those are Hue corduroy leggings.]
And then here's a bonus, nothing-to-do-with-foolish-boots photo, just because I love it and it makes me happy every time I see it:
So these fit, technically, and I can walk in them, sort of, and they are pretty groovy. But I will not, oh, say, hike in them. Wear them shopping. Take them with me traveling. They are what my niece calls Ten-Minute Shoes. You put them on for ten minutes and that's it.
Or, if I were another sort of woman, maybe like one I overheard last year, a woman sporting a pair of fabulous vintage shoes, I might say as she did, "You wear shoes like these so men will buy you drinks."
Yeah, that's it! THAT'S what I was thinking when I bought these. Good to know, because I was wondering, when I took them off, what exactly that had been, that idea going through my brain there in the shoe department. Now I know: I bought them so strange men will buy me drinks in bars. Perhaps ones with little umbrellas (the drinks, not the Strange Men. Although I guess if I were going to be given a drink by a Strange Man, I'd want him to be the kind who was prepared for any eventuality, sporting not only a little umbrella but perhaps a bi-plane and an Uzi, as well).
Bwahahahahahahaha. Strange Men in Bars--I love this train of thought, very Casablanca-esque, spies and secret weapons deals.
Although I suspect that's not what The Woman in the Fabulous Shoes (that's what we call her) had in mind.
And here's a photo that has nothing to do with Boot Folly but that makes me happy every time I see it:

looking good! great boots and color combination -one of my favorites. not that i could ever even walk in that heel...
boots maybe for events where you are mostly sitting? walk from vehicle in, sit, walk back to vehicle? movies? concerts?
they are super tho.
i think i would rather buy my own drinks than be picked up by a guy just because of my footwear? ew
I AM a shoe person. There are shoes in my closet that are over 30 yrs old I can't bear to part with, and I still wear them.
Those are great boots, and I would wear them a lot.
BTW, I love heels, and have told friends on more than one occasion, that "They can pull my stiletos off me cold dead feet." But I confess, mine aren't the sky-high 7" popular right now. I have sedate stiletos..or is that an oxymoron?
LOVE the glove/glasses/scarf photo. Thanks for continually adding fabulous color to the world.
OOOOH the COLORS! Looking at those colors is like eating chocolate cake.
The boots look amazing on you. And, I completely sympathise about not wearing heels. I don't know how people walk in them!
I wonder if you could get a shoe person to cut down the heels? Their color is ecstasy, especially with the pants and lime green!
I think I have those green gloves...and the red scarf...but not the glasses.
Love the colorful photos, and those are great boots. But, I don't wear heels much either, except for "occasions"....would rather be comfortable.
Thanks--I love looking at these boots, so maybe I'll just put them on and sit in the studio and admire them and then take them off. Or I could fill them with potting soil and plant stuff in them. No, wait--I can't even grow mold. I'm gardening impaired.
My favorite boots are the flat Borns. So comfortable, plus I don't have to think about it when I walk in them, you know?
I love the boots and the color is gorgeous !!!
