My name rhymes with "Lisa,"
I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm
and the mortgage is cheap,
and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course!
The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years.
I have the best job in the world
because I get to call up artists
and ask them nosy questions
and then write about them.
I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.
Everything from the bottom of our bed to the wall is pretty much mine :) I agree completely that you need to make the most of the space you have! This is my domain and I treasure it :) love your colours :) xx
Throughly enjoyed looking at your house and how it's creatively used. Adore all that color in the house you use. My cat, Mabel, would love that day bed that gets all that sun, too.
I've never been much interested in "decorating," either, Zom. But I can't stand to live in a plain house, surrounded by off-white walls. It would drive me insane. All this began when I was 10 or 11 and my mother painted the walls of my room pink and made the curtains, spread, valance, etc. Then we moved. In high school, she painted my walls the brightest colors you could get: hot pink, purple, lime, turquoise. Everyone was envious because they weren't allowed. My mother loved color; she didn't particularly care for my choices, but she understood my need for it.
Loved your home. I think if one is surrounded by creative things/colors, ideas, one is more creative in their thinking. My kitty would love to get into those threads! How do you manage that enticement? patq
I've enjoyed the photos of your house in the flickr group and also enjoyed this video tour. Since I live alone (with my cats) there is no reason for me not to do exactly what I want with my house. Mostly, I have done that--the spare bedroom is the craft room and the living room is my office/studio since I, too, work at home. I think I may need to brighten up the colors a bit, though. The purple, lime and turquoise of your childhood bedroom sounds perfect to me. Bless your mother.
Loved your commentary. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. And got a kick out of the look of consternation on your face when "farther" popped out, immediately edited to "further." I so identify.

Wow, that was fascinating. There is a double-breasted pink jacket waiting to be altered that I am now coveting.
Your house looks like what I think a creative person's house 'should' look like. It is funny the 'shoulds' we have in our heads, isn't it?
My house looks much plainer. I don't know why, but I have never been much interested in decorating it.

Evidence of a life well-lived. I loved the fringed belts hanging on the wall in the lounge/spare bedroom. My dh enjoyed the tour with me.

Exactly: it's just paint!
