My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

See? This is Why!

OK. It's Monday noon, and here's what I'm going to do: the first person who 1) tossed their name in the original give-away for the Keith Lo Bue DVD and 2) posts a comment here and 3) sends me an email with their mailing address, YOU will win. I will also love you. A Lot.

Do you see why I've quit trying to give things away here? This plus the almost-$2000-in-postage from 2008 have broken me of that, let me tell you. Apparently I suck at giving things away.

Sorry to vent, but, man! It's ridiculous, you know?

Hey Ricë,
I didn't sign up for the original give away but if no one contacts you from the original give away (and right now, who really knows???), I would love to win the DVD. I feel for ya!

Since I lost this once already through some Blogger Hitch…I’ll try to recreate.it..

So…Did I just get yelled at by my MOM????? Feels like it! Sorry to say the “I never win anything” mentality sets in when there are so many things to be done. It is not that they aren’t appreciated. See, I figure you must have millions of readers like myself !!!
I love you, too, I really do! I read you every day (even when I wonder why since you talk about everything and nothing) and would miss you terribly here and at Mixed Media. Your offers are very kind, generous and fun and your thoughts are always right on the mark from my perspective!

So, I hope this gives you a little consolation by way of an explanation and affirmation that you are adored. Even if I can’t/Don’t win, it matters not because you are FABULOUS no matter what!!

Hon, maybe the winner can contribute (say half) of the postage. I'm just brainstormin' ~ after all we're in this together, all of us, and we can all contribute. All offer up some yin and some yang. *smiles* You are loved by many.

Thanks a bunch! It's a sweet idea, but the joy of the give-aways was, for me, thinking about somebody getting something cool sent to them for nothing. The benefit to me was, of course, that people would come visit and then come back and maybe find something they liked and stick around. But lately it's not been working out so well, and it's not fun any more. We'll find something else to do in The Voodoo Cafe to entertain ourselves, I'm sure~~XO

Well, we could always sew and tell stories in the Voodoo Cafe. Then move on to the Lounge for refreshments.

I'd love to sit and have a cup of virtual tea and chat a while. I just discovered your blog this past week and am so glad I did!!

I'm sorry this thing that is supposed to be so pleasant is becoming something so frustrating. That really is not right. I hope the person who now wins the dvd will be all the more thankful and happy! It's like getting a second chance, right? (By the way, I am not participating in this one, I am still happy from a previous giveaway of yours last september! ;-) )

As a former , very thrilled, winner of one of your giveaways, I just don't understand why someone would put their name in the hat, and then not respond when they won.

I would be willing to guess that there are more of us out there who were very grateful for their free gift, as opposed to those who shrugged it off. Don't get bummed on their account! ;=}

GIVE ME GIVE ME!

As another previous winner of your fabulous giveaways, I just want to say that I absolutely loved and appreciated being the recipient of your generosity!

That said, if it's just causing frustration, then it's not fun anymore. One of my favorite lines from a Jimmy Buffett song is "I don't do "bidness" that don't make me smile."

Yes, I know bad grammar and horrid spelling abounds in that line, but I love the sentiment.

That IS a great line--I'd never heard it. It's a great way to live life if you can, for sure. XO
