My Photo
Midland, Texas, United States
My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

I really like your drawings.

Honestly, your donkey drawings are very free and whimsical. You didn't say if you used a reference when you were drawing, but I'm imagining not.
I notice that even Roz says she doesn't draw well from memory. She needs an object or photo to draw from. I agree with her. Of course then you might lose some of the qualities that I like about the drawings.......

I went to that website but didn't know where to find your drawings!

I'm sorry, Mimi--I just assume everyone knows and is going, "Yeah, yeah, yeah. you told us already." My blog at CMM, "The Creative Life," is always in the bottom right-hand corner of the home page with my photo--that's where you find the current post. You click on it, or you can look for it in the dropdown menu under "Blogs."

Sorry about that.

Ricë I think your "Bad Drawings" are wonderful! Thinking what you want to draw and drawing it as in childhood. How wonderful is that. I can't wait to see what you do with them!

Rice, I'm itching to see the bad drawings...but can't find them! When I click on the link and get to the site, I see your pan pastel section on the sidebar but can't see any art anywhere nor your name anywhere else on the site. Can anyone help? I LOVE bad drawings. It's exactly the way I draw and it's magical. I once did an a.t.c. doll (and believe me it's kinda a big deal because I OWN the yahoo group!!) that I traded on a paper doll trading group where I did a wonderful Indian gal sitting down holding a peacock feather and she has TWO LEFT FEET and I didn't notice it until I'd finished the drawing. I just left it the way it was (is) and sent it off to my partner. Anyway...hello to everyone! *smiles* Norma

Sorry, Norma--I went in and tweaked the settings. Someone else had labeled a blog post wrong. You can find it now. Here's a direct link:

Thanks hon! So you see the animal drawing at the top on the right? I'd call this a feline myself...look at the ear folded over. HOW cute is that. Whether it's folded because there was no more room at the top of the page for the line to go...or whether planned...either way it is the thing that gives the (cat) character. I look forward to seeing more of your drawing. Picasso and all those guys (gals too, ahem) did the same kind of drawings when they began and it doesn't matter what age we start, the thing is to continue. I like that you are continuing. I only started drawing two years ago and I'm age 60. Whoa!!
