My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

I Promise: This Won't Become a Habit

Really:  this is the last hilarious animal video I'm going to post. This will NOT become All Animal Videos, All the Time.

I swear.

OK, well, maybe every once in a while. But not every day! Really!

But one of the WWSF sent this to me, and I watched it this morning and laughed until tears ran down my cheeks, literally. And, since allergies woke me up at 5:30 this morning and made me just the teensiest bit grouchy, what with the snorting and hacking and bleeding sinuses and all, that's a pretty big deal. I watched this and my day just got a WHOLE lot better. I'm willing to bet yours will, too. Which is why I'm posting it here.

And you know what's the coolest thing? It's funny, sure, and it's clever. But it's the relationship the two humans have with the two dogs that entrances me. It looks like everyone's having a great time. Sure, there may have been 50 takes to get this video, but still: four living creatures (plus the waitress, of course, and the people in the background and whatever) teamed up to do this cool thing that is now spreading joy to thousands of other people who are sitting at their desks watching it. And maybe some other creatures, as well:  I'll have to catch Clarice after her nap and ask her what she thinks about it.

Again--I'm serious here!--set down the cup, swallow whatever's in your mouth, sit back, and enjoy:

Thanks, Paula!

[I can't decide if "busty" is a typo or someone's attempt to be clever. Doesn't matter.]

This is FUNNY! Smokey could not watch. One of the cats did not show up for work today, so..........she has to take a nap for 2 cats! Heck, somebody, or rather some cat has to take up the slack!

Give Smokey my sympathy for the extra work--napping for two has to be rough.

That video is definately the best I've seen for ages, I had tears running down my face, I could hardly see I was laughing so much, and now my sides ache. Love your blog, so honest, refreshing and entertaining.

love it!
very well-behaved dogs - my bella would have had that plate licked clean as soon as it was set down!
not that she gets to eat at the table mind you....

It's like watching my two elderly great-aunts eat. I almost felt guilty laughing because I could almost hear their conversation! It looks like they were having great fun. Thanks for sharing another classic.
The verification "word" today is "nedli" - what a great dog name.

OK - I'm going to have to stop having tea in front of me when I come to your blog, Ricë! LOVED the fierce kitten and now this one.

If you enjoyed this particular video - see if you can rent/borrow a copy of William Wegman's video "Fay's 12 Days of Christmas". He did this sort of thing with his Weimaraners for Sesame Street for years. I cannot watch Faye's video without completely dissolving into helpless cackling - the kind during which you have no strength to even raise your arms. The cookie-icing segment is probably the bestest part. (Yep - bestest.)

Thanks for sharing this.
