Kelly Rae Roberts posted this video on her blog today. I think it's a really important message, so I'm posting it here. Please go read her posts here and here to know why she's spreading the message.
Then watch the video:
Then check your skin, please. Here's my reminder from three years ago. You can barely see it now, but I know it's there:
I was lucky. Very, very lucky. You can be, too. Please.

Thanks, Ricë. My mother died of malignant melanoma when she was 3 days shy of 57 years old. I have my skin checked by a dermatologist EVERY year. I've had several carcinomas removed, none melanoma...but I'm not taking any chances.
This was a wonderful video. Thanks again.
Thank you for sharing this with us. I work with a young lady who is fighting this now.
Yeah, melanoma took my best friend, but it was a rare kind INSIDE her sinuses. She fought for 3 years and lost.
Feel very lucky that mine was caught by a sharp-eyed dermatologist after TWO doctors said it was "nothing to worry about"! Continue to check my skin regularly.
A dermatologist told me mine "was nothing to worry about." I got my OB/GYN to take it off, anyway. He, too, thought it was nothing but did it anyway because I insisted.
Thank you Rice,
I have keratoses (keratosi?) that I'm treating with a topical ointment prescribed to me by the doctor. I need to go and have them checked again.
This reminder is very timely.
