Podcast with Seth Apter

I think I met Seth through our mutual editor, Tonia Davenport, but I'm not sure, because by now it seems like I've been nagging him forever: join Facebook! Sign up for Twitter! He says he's listening, but I'm not so sure. If I start seeing tweets, then I'll believe him.
That's OK: we love him anyway, and his blog, The Altered Page, is a wonderful resource for the online mixed-media community whether or not he ever hangs out with us on Twitter. If you haven't been to his blog, you should go there now and check it out. You can also find him hanging out with us over at CreateMixedMedia.com. He posts there, too, at "Your Blog, Your Way."

Settle back, put your feet up, and enjoy my conversation with Seth, where, at the very end, he makes me crack up.

Great podcast! Thank you so much, I really enjoyed it. It's great to put a voice and a face on the work of someone you admire.

This was a great interview, and I can now put a face and a voice to this fellow artist! And he's right about men and art and class settings - I've never taken a class or participated much in the online blogging community until I met Seth.

Please tell him we are waiting for his second posting of Your Blog, Your Way.

Hey Rice- I never listen to podcasts...most of the time they are uninteresting..but I wanted to let you know I really enjoyed this podcast! Your questions are INTERESTING and not run o' the mill. I appreciate you putting this together.

Thanks Rice. I enjoyed the podcast with Seth. I follow his blog as I do yours.
I had to pause the cast for about 15 minutes. When I came back it suddenly quit on me. The cursor will not scroll across the screen for me to try and find where it left off, it just keeps scrolling backwards and then just stops. I tried 5 times.
Any ideas? I would like to finish listening as I did not have far to go, but to no avail and since it is a long one do not want to start all over.
Thank you for your input.

I'm so sorry, Patq. I have no clue how this stuff works, so I don't know what might be going on. I would suggest going over there in the sidebar and trying that link--it will take you to my page at libsyn, the podcast host, and perhaps it will be more user friendly there. Or in iTunes, if you use that--it should have the scroll bar along the top so you can find your spot. Again, I'm so sorry it's been difficult. Wish I were more of a techie so I could help--I just know how to do 'em and get 'em out there. After that, it's all a mystery to me, alas.

How great to hear Seth! I love this guy - he has done such amazing things for the blogger community and his achievements these last few years have continuosly knocked my socks off (which is a hard thing to do if you've ever seen my tight fitting toes socks, ha ha!).

Really enjoyed this interview and got a lot out of it. Thank you!

Cool that he took a Danny Gregory class; I'm a big fan of his too. Seth's advice re: keeping your work spontaneous and create for art's sake and self-expression really spoke to me. That's tricky sometimes.

Thank you!

What a great interview Rice. It was wonderful to learn more about Seth's creative processes and ideas. He's such an interesting character as well as a creative and informative one! I agree that your questions were more in depth and interesting than I probably anticipated. Thank you for that!

Hi Rice! Thank you for sharing such a terrific podcast. It's taken me this long to finally listen to it entirely.

PS - Is there a reason Seth's podcast isn't listed over on the other page where all the podcasts are archived? I had to come through your blog searching to find it again... not a criticism, just a FYI. I love your interviews so much, this is another entertaining and informative session! Thank you!!
