And it was OK--nicely padded, with some beads. But the re-felted wool was starting to get fuzz balls on it, which always creeps me out. Plus wool + West Texas Summer = icky AND depressingly hot.
So I realized that the way to make myself make time to do this was to make a tutorial out of it for my blog over at CreateMixedMedia.com. So that's what I did. Here's the finished case,
and here's where you can read more about the process--the first part is here, and the second part is here.
In case you don't want to go there (although I can't imagine why), here are some more shots:

I cannot WAIT to make another one. Not just like this, of course. But using what I learned about the leather and the tin heart and stuff. I can't even tell you how satisfying this was. I'm going to try to write a post about the process, about why I loved it so much. Keep your fingers crossed for me, please, that the project I'm working on today works out smoothly and that I get the videos done for CMM and that I then have time to write about it. And I'll keep mine crossed for you that your day goes super smoothly, too~~XO

I so, so love that. I'm sitting here wishing it was in my purse with my phone in it right this minute.
Oh Rice! This is totally, totally fabulous! Actually, I think I might even buy an iphone just so I could make a case like this. I love the asymetrical-ness of it! This is by far the coolest thing you have made in a a long time! Wow!

Thanks! It was a lot of fun, and it's got me inspired in a bunch of ways I want to talk about soon--thanks for looking at it, and thanks for commenting. XO
I love the tin with the leather. Very cool.
I look forward to hearing more.
Fun pouch! I've been enjoying your tweets about this...so cool to see the pics of it!!
Looking forward to your new post. This is really neat!
Thanks! I'm having trouble trying to figure out how to articulate this obsession I have with garments/bags/shoes = altering/embellishing. But it's not that--it's about more than that, about turning everything into talismans. Or something. I need to find someone to talk to about it and talk until I can figure out what it is, you know? Like if you have an amorphous idea and can talk or write it out, it gets clearer.
What a beautiful iPhone case! Love the irregular shape and the tin heart (it looks stuffed) the coral chip beads that hold it on. Awesome!

Turning everything into talismans. I really get that.
