My Photo
Midland, Texas, United States
My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

Podcast with Linda Young of Art Unraveled

I can't believe it's less than 3 1/2 weeks until Art Unraveled. Whoa--the summer has sped by, and it's almost time to pack. Yay! The EGE and I have been several times--I've taught workshops there, and I've vended. Last year we were there covering the retreat for Destination: Creativity. This year we get to have big fun: I'm going to moderate a panel discussion with 14 teacher/authors, complete with book signing (theirs, not mine; mine won't be out yet, alas) on Thursday evening, and then on Saturday night we're going to have Teachers Coloring Outside the Lines, or what I'm thinking of as Teasing the Teachers, where I get to be the MC and harass the teachers as they try to complete a foreign-to-them project. It's going to be way fun, and I can't wait.
 Objects & Elements booth
 daily Manager's Reception (free drinks!)
 Vendors' Day--6 hours Saturday!
Michael deMeng and Daniel Essig (Dan's in the book!)
So I called Linda and talked to her. I mean, what's better to do when you can't wait for something to happen? You call up someone and talk about it. In this case, you get to listen in.

This was a great interview, Rice! I can't wait to see you "torture the teachers" in August :)
