My Photo
Midland, Texas, United States
My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

Hello from Art Unraveled!

Hello, hello! Normally I'd be posting these photos over at CreateMixedMedia.com, where I'm doing daily updates to my post about Art Unraveled. But some weird thing has happened with Wordpress over there, and it won't allow any of us to upload photos. If I were the only one who couldn't do it, we could work around that, but alas: it's everyone. So I'm uploading them here, with good old Blogger, and linking. I gotta say: I may whine about Blogger, but it's pretty dang reliable for me.

So OK: we're here in Phoenix, at Art Unraveled. It's hot, but nobody cares. People are having a great time. I'm totally jazzed this morning because I brought some of my artwear that never gets worn, never, ever, and I've found homes for most of it.  The big things, the things I loved a lot, I couldn't just give away. I had to wear them and wait for The Right Person to find me and make a big fuss over them. And she did, and we both got all teary and happy. I think The EGE has photos, and I'll get them from him later. For right now, here are some quick photos from the first few days. We hang out in the lobby in the evenings (I hang out there most of the time when I'm not up here in our room working because that's where I get to talk to people--duh), talking and planning stuff and taking photos of each other.  What did people do before they had digital cameras? How did they survive? I don't know. Anyway--I'm going to be uploading some more photos here shortly, so check back, please. As you might imagine, The EGE has taken a ton of them for me.
If you've been to AU, you know Linda. But maybe you
don't know her husband, Chuck. He's a sweetie.

Dave and Eric (or maybe Eric and Dave:
whenever I meet two people at once,
I can never keep them straight),
 the Journal Fodder Junkie guys
(there's a video of them over at CMM, and there'll be another
as soon as I can get it uploaded)
Don Madden, who does fabulous work. Check out his blog
here.

Jen Cushman and my new book (she's in it, in case
you can't guess)

Wordpress *will* allow video, so I'll be uploading those on my AU post. Hop over and take a look, and then come back later (both places--until the glitch is gone, I'll post photos here and videos over there--sorry for the inconvenience) and see what's new. What will it be? I have no earthly idea--that's the fun of it all~~

So nice to put faces to the voices I listen to on your podcasts. It's like seeing good and special friends. I hope to join in on the fun in person sometime soon.
