My Photo
Midland, Texas, United States
My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

It's Here!

Oboy, oboy, oboy! We found out yesterday that amazon.com has started shipping pre-orders of our new book, so I can officially begin to tell you about it. While I could easily wax poetic about this baby for many, many paragraphs (and aren't you surprised?), it's much more fun if I can *show* you, right? So I spent all of yesterday (until midnight last night) making this for you. I don't know about anyone else, but The EGE and I LOVE this movie--we've been watching it over and over, loving how everyone looks so happy. As, indeed, they were--we had a blast at these retreats~~

So watch the movie, and then come back later to hear more Adventures in Geekdom.

You did a great job with the video (and, obviously, with the new book). My favorite part of the video (other than the scrumptious shot of Earl) is the way you've got the airplane noise swooshing from one side of the computer to the other. And the two women dancing at the end? Superb. Kudos, congratulations, you're fantastic. --Carol Leigh

...love, Love, LOVE this video! The shot of Earl with his camera is ICONIC! The happy people, the memories it brings back of meeting you both in Vegas (not to mention the memories it sparks of actually HOSTING you in 'my neck o' the woods'). I rarely 'pre-order' anything -- so you have reached an exalted status in my library ;-) SO, so very excited! I can understand why you two can't stop watching this: it's AWESOME! (((hugs!)))

I liked the video. I was expecting the red car to be turned over with the wheels rolling by the end of the video(LOL)

Looking forward to this book.

Thanks a bunch for watching! Watching it myself is about the only leisure-time activity I have these days. Here's to a slower-paced and much cooler and damper autumn. Whew.
