Great. I adore The EGE, but I'm not going to Paris to get him shoes.
Then, when we were in Phoenix for Art Unraveled, we went shopping with Jeanie Thorn and Tonia Davenport and went to an H&M there, just in case they had some. Indeed! Men's orange tennies! Cheap, unfortunately: I don't think they'll survive being laundered, and they're getting very, very dirty. So no photos of the shoes.
But I also found this shirt/blouse on clearance:
It definitely had possibilities, and it was cheap (did I mention "on clearance"?) so I bought it, never mind that it's thin and not a color I 1) wear or 2) can dye something fabulous (blue can go either purple or teal). I cut it shorter in the front and then added a lot of denim-colored stitching, and I like it:
A little help from the wind to show you the shape.
(Sorry for the shadow-y, wind-poofy photos.
We were rushing, trying to get some before we left the house.)
More later--I'm trying to get photos of all the projects I've altered this summer.
Whew. XO

love this...
I adore that top!
I gotta say, it is SO WEIRD to see in you in something so colorless. I don't know about this one ... it just doesn't scream YOU. What does Earl think?
Thanks! And, Carol, I know what you mean. he says (yeah, I went in and asked him, just for you!), "It isn't one of the colors we usually wear, but it fits your shape well and looks good."
I'm being drawn back to the days when I wore denim and chambray, for whatever reason. There's something about worn, faded, soft denim and chambray. I don't do comfort foods; maybe these are comfort clothes?
Oh, you are so inspiring. I love this blouse. I need to look at things with different eyes.
That's it exactly: looking at things with different eyes. Sometimes it fails me, and then later I'll go, "Oh, man! That would have been perfect if I'd . . . ."
Gee, the cutting it shorter in front really made it. About the colour, denim and faded denim both look fabulous with your 'usual' colours.
Rice, you have inspired me to take chances with my own wardrobe. I mean, really, why be normal? I spent years trying to fit in. Now, I just want to be myself.
Got the exact same... well I have not altered it... love what you did with it!
