My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

Done with The Yoolies

At least I hope so, because, honeys? I think I have Enough. More than Enough. Sure, I wear them--I'm wearing the red-and-green one (Yoolie #12) right now. But I think 15 is enough, and I have so many other stitching projects I cannot WAIT to tackle. When Zom asked if I'd shown them all, I had to go check, and it appears that, no, I have not. So here, in what I hope is near the order in which I actually made them (although, of course, I can't really remember exactly. Duh.) are The Yoolies:

 One of my favorites.

Love the drape-y-ness of this one.

 Another favorite, nice and heavy.
Haven't worn this one yet--it's lighter weight (70% silk)
Wearing it now with a red long-sleeved t and jeans.
Haven't worn any of these last three yet--just finished them yesterday and today.

So there they are. Right now, I think #15 is my favorite--but I haven't actually worn it yet. It's very heavy, and it's got beading on it:
I'm not sure about the neck, though--it may slip off my shoulders. These necks are problematic: I don't want them tight, as they were. I hate that. It's hard to get them over my head, and I always feel like I'm choking. On the other hand, I hate it when the neck is too big and won't stay in place. So, as my mother would say, "We'll see." Maybe having a t-shirt under it will help hold it in place.

OK--back to those wrist warmers. I'm stalling on these: I did one and hated it and had to cut off the part I stitched and then start over from scratch, so I'm all gritchy about it. Good thing I blogged it this morning (snort), or I'd toss them and go on to something else. . . .see how well I know myself? Blogging it is my stick.

Where's my carrot, though?

I'm mad about #5. Love the black, worn, soft sweatshirty appearance of it. However, each Yoolie (whereever did this name come from?) is a unique statement of color and charm. I hope you always have fun wearing them.

I loved the "Yoolie" show. The new symbol on the last ones adds a great feature.
Excited to see the wrist warmers!

Thanks for showing them, I love them all but esp. the 2nd Yoolie, looks like planets on it.

Thanks--it's so much fun to hear which are your favorites. I wish you could each have them all--like a production line of them. But--hint, hint--it's so much better to make your own! I'm trying to start a Yoolie Movement: we'll wear them and take over the world. What will we do once we take over? Dress fabulously, of course!

I love the planets one too, but they all look great - your signature bow detail has turned our SO well! Very inspiring, I'm off to raid mt husbands wardrobe and see if theres anything I can make into a Julie Yule Yoolie!!

I like the motif on the last two.
To me it looks like letters. But it would, wouldn't it?

You have a Yoolie for every occasion I think. My favorite it the greenish one, pic thrid from the bottom. For some reason the weight/drape looks like it would be so comfortable.

No snow here thank the weather gods.

That was really exciting, to see them all in a row like that. Thanks. It was like a series art show.

My favourites:
I like no1, the orange one for its multi-layered appliqué and the way the hems are finished. The stitching really makes it cohesive as a piece.

Number 3 for similar appliqué reasons and the colours are happening.

No 4 for the cool patches and the lines of stitching on them. I like the blue on the black. And I feel the reference to those japanese patched thingies (what were they called?). I think it is brilliant how you only stitched the neckline and hem partly. The whole piece is like a reference to those japanese thingies. Brilliant.

No 7 purple one is my favourite for the colours and the buttons. That would be the one I would wear.

No 10, the pink one is also fab, but I couldn't see myself wearing a peace sign, teehee.

I could easily go on about each one, but I want to go to the studio now.

By the way, what is happening on the backs? Anything?
