My name rhymes with "Lisa,"
I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm
and the mortgage is cheap,
and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course!
The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years.
I have the best job in the world
because I get to call up artists
and ask them nosy questions
and then write about them.
I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.
Here's a note from weatherbug.com: This snow will be a big deal for parts of west Texas. Midland, Texas, got hammered with 6.4 inches just before Christmas and even had a small taste of winter early in December when 2.5 inches accumulated. The additional 5 to 10 inches from this storm will bring the season`s total to about 16 inches, which would shatter the all-time snow record of 13.9 inches set in the winter of 1946-1947. In addition, the record for the most snow to ever fall in one day on January 9 is 5.9 inches. This storm could easily bypass that amount.
I thought about you when I saw this on the news that you were getting hit again. You have my utmost and sincere sympathy. I never want to see snow the rest of my life.
ground is bare in massachusetts and most of new england right now. gotta love this 'climate change' ... for the moment anyhow. does this snow, in any way, make up for the lack of rain y'all had to deal with last year? seems mother nature is confused.
Every little bit helps, Geri, but we'd need WAY more than this to get us out of the drought. They're talking about restricting outdoor water use to one day a week if things aren't better by spring. The EGE and I are talking about taking up the front lawn, something unbelievable to us. I love grass and trees, and it looks dire for both.
Dixie, I've lived in Denver (Littleton) and places north, so I know Real Snow (we were snowed in a lot in places like Plentywood, Montana), but this is WEST TEXAS, and we're not supposed to have this here. We have no snow equipment, people freak out, nobody has warm enough clothes. It's just crazy. I know: I grew up in a snowsuit. But not here!
Well Rice, apparently you have our snow since we haven't really had any. I would greatly appreciate it if you would keep it there. Sometimes we run out of places to put it all. Thank you for the sunny 50 degree days here on the North Coast. We will enjoy every one of them!
Rice, Sorry that you have the snow but I am happy for the 50 degree temps we are experiencing today. So far we have only had an inch of snow and if I don't see any more this season, I will be ecstatic! I think that snow is the worst of the four letter words. Of course all the kids will hate me here in Ohio when there aren't any snow days, but I can live with that! Besides snow is predicted for later this week. Maybe you'll get your warm weather back.

I'm in Canada and haven't even gotten a whiff of snow yet. I feel cheated!
You are SO welcome to take this. Please!
in northeast pa and i have hardly seen flurries...it's the climate change...
You're so funny. I would MUCH rather have snow than 100 degree temperatures. Here in Denver we consider 6 inches barely more than a flurry.

Sorry Ricë, I will NEVER complain again about things that fall from the sky in the form of moisture.

Thanks, Dora, but one of the forecasts actually shows MORE s-n-o-w for Thursday. I may lose my mind.
