My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

Windows Week is Almost Upon Us

. . .starts tomorrow. This is the week I'll get new windows in the sewing studio. Remember it? It looked like this:

Then it looked like this:

Now it looks like this:

The daybed will come out when the sun goes down and the cats are done with it for the day--they won't get their daily dose of sun this week, so we left it up so they could lounge all afternoon. And they did--The EGE was using the power drill on the wall above the bed, and Moe just kept right on snoozing. The EGE had to work around His Lounge-iness.

Stressful, indeed. Every room has parts of it--the sewing tables are in the living room, an extra table out here holds all the stuff that was on the shelves, clothes hanging on hooks are now in The Voodoo Lounge.

Yiiiii.

Now we're off to buy plastic drop cloths to tape over all the doorways to try to contain some of the dust--they'll be sanding sheetrock or something later in the week--I'm trying not to think about it, actually~~

Wow!!! You have been very busy! Poor kitties having to go without their favorite spots. As to the sanding of sheetrock - uff da! If you think you have enough tape holding up the plastic, tape it again. The dust is flour fine and will find any gaps to creep out. A rolled up damp towel will help as well. I think you've earned a glass of the forbidden wine!

I'm so impressed by the progress you have made in your studio, and how much you were able to let go of and give away. Just think how awesome your space will be once all this is done!!!!

I've heard you should hang old sheets or fabric and keep spraying them with water to keep them damp. Helps catch the fine dust better supposedly. It'll all be worth it in the end.
