My Photo
Midland, Texas, United States
My name rhymes with "Lisa," I live in Midland, Texas, because it's warm and the mortgage is cheap, and of course this is my natural hair color. Of course! The EGE--The Ever-Gorgeous Earl--is my husband of 35 years. I have the best job in the world because I get to call up artists and ask them nosy questions and then write about them. I also stitch, podcast, blog, and then, in my spare time, do it all some more.

On the Right Side of History

Roz posted this video on her blog today, and I think it's important and so snatched it to post it here, too. Thanks, Roz~~

And I gotta say: I love those Unitarian Universalists.

Ricë, thanks for helping to spread the word. We are going to have a struggle here in Minnesota, but there are also other states where similar measures are being put forth that would ban gay marriage. I hope people see this video and think about what's really at stake and fight these measures so that gay marriage becomes commonplace. It's the right thing to do.

We are going through this in Australia as well and it is a very politicised issue! This video was great; I wish more people here could see this. We just had Mardi Gras here in Sydney and almost every float had this message on it. So way to Universal Unitarians.
Rice haven't been here before but we are friends on Facebook and I have read all your books (own all your books) and love your style.

What a wonderful video! Thanks for sharing. I only wish I could vote in Minnesota. Why would you ever vote against love and social stability?

I love this. Thanks for sharing. And I gotta say, I agree about the Unitarian Universalists.

Thank you for posting this! I'm one of those Unitarian-Universalists and, hopefully, we will all try our hardest and best to get this message across. It's about l.o.v.e., committment and fairness.

I'm sorry to say that my home state of Texas is really backward about almost everything these days. It wasn't always that way. We did, once upon a time, have Anne Richards. Now we do not, and I'm embarrassed at some of the things on the books. Don't even get me started on the women's reproductive issues.

As a UU minister, I'm so pleased to hear the love for us! - thanks!

I love Ann Richards. I always wished she'd run for president. Things would be a lot different! I really didn't know much about her until I read her first book.
I just bought her book about osteoporosis a few days ago. I'll be reading that next after I finish reading Living the Creative Life.

Perfect. I wish I could get some of my family members to watch this ... but some folks (yes, Texans) are so rigid that nothing makes a difference. I'm going to try to share this video too. Thank you!

Beautiful video. It's my deepest hope that the rest of the country will follow my home state of Massachusetts.
