In the process of acquiring shirts for the Alabama Chanin Project, I have become something of a T-Shirt Connoisseur, checking out the quality of the shirts I get at Goodwill. I really liked the Gildan Ultra Cotton for the shirts I do for The EGE, but they're scarse, so I tracked down a place online, Cheapestees.com, where I can order them in over 60 colors, including one PFD (prepared for dyeing) for less than $4 each. You can't beat that, no way. I've ordered from them twice--I haven't gotten any PFD yet, but I've gotten a bunch of colors he likes that I haven't had to dye. It's almost impossible to find 100% cotton purple t-shirts, even though Midland High's colors are purple and gold: almost all the shirts are 50/50 blends, and I won't use those. And you can't find men's pink shirts, either. So now I have a little selection of large, washed-and-ready-to-go shirts.
Anyway, so this week I had the idea that The EGE needs a pet. Bwahahahahahahahahaha. Like he doesn't have enough cats who think he's The God of the House & The Giver of Food (Also Treats). He needed a stegosaurus, though.
Ergo, Spot:
I'm not totally happy with the eye; I may replace the fat black bead with a tiny flat black sequin at some point, but for right now, it'll do.
Now I've got to take a shower and stuff so I can go to Hobby Lobby and look for more red bugle beads--I have two tubes but don't know if they'll be enough for the project I started this morning--lately I've been underestimating the number of beads I need, mostly because I get carried away and things get way more involved than I'd originally planned. And since Hobby Lobby 1) is the only place that has even a modest selection of seed and bugle beads and 2) is closed on Sundays, I've got to do that NOW. Sure, I have other things I could work on tomorrow. Sure, I have enough beads right now to last me for a couple hours of beading. But I can't relax into the project and see where it takes me if I don't have enough beads: I'll be scrimping so I don't run out, and that always shows in the end.
So what are you working on this weekend? I hope it's something you're loving~~

Love the new shirt! I have a meeting all Sunday afternoon and would like to knit but what I am working on takes a little concentration and so does the meeting so I see doodling (slightly rude) or just listening (I might learn something).
The shirt is too cute!
I'm layering and basting a quilt this weekend.
It's all your fault, I am blaming you, I am now hand stitching paisleys with beads for my artist trading cards! I have been inspired by a Rice (rhymes with Lisa) !!!! LOL What a bad influence you are even if I do find the stitching quite calming.
Just not calming enough to keep me from sending you this note!
